FAQ
Answers to frequently asked questions from drivers
As soon as we know your new car’s registration number, we will order your fuel card/s, which will be automatically sent to you. Your PIN will be sent in a separate letter for security reasons.
Please check that all the details on your card are correct, then you only need to sign in the space provided on the back. Remember your PIN. Don’t write it on the card and don’t keep the PIN and card together in your wallet. Please make sure you learn your PIN number and do not tell anyone else what it is. When entering your PIN number, make sure that nobody else can see what it is.
If the card is not personal but is also used by other drivers, please enter the registration number of the leased vehicle in the signature field.
The LeasePlan fuel card must be stored in such a way that it is not accessible to unauthorised persons, in particular it must not be kept in unlocked or unguarded leased vehicles.
The magnetic strip has to be intact for the card to work. To protect it, keep it away from car radios, loudspeakers and magnets and do not expose it to sunlight.
Please inform us without delay by e-mail to kartenservice.de@leaseplan.com or 24/7 by phone at +49 211 91358221.
We’ll block the card and send you a replacement.
Your LeasePlan Aral and euroShell fuel card enables - depending on the agreed scope of services - cashless payment at participating petrol stations and is used for legitimisation when ordering services (glass, tyres, maintenance and repair).
If you have any questions about the scope of services, please contact your fleet management.
Depending on the agreed scope of service, you can use the LeasePlan fuel card to pay for fuel, refill oils, small parts (e.g. fuses, bulbs, windscreen wipers) and vehicle washes at participating petrol stations. Shop items are excluded from the scope of service. You can also use the LeasePlan fuel card to pay toll charges. Acceptance of cash refunds for goods and services obtained with the card is not permitted.
If you have any questions about the scope of service, please contact your fleet management.
You confirm payment with your LeasePlan fuel card using your personal 4-digit PIN and the current mileage of your vehicle. Ask the staff at the petrol station to give you a copy of the receipt, which you check and confirm by signing. Keep the receipt for your own reference.
If you enter an incorrect PIN three times, the card is automatically blocked for 24 hours. After that you can use it again.
Send us an e-mail to kartenservice.de@leaseplan.com or give us a call at +49 211 91358221. We’ll then send you another letter informing you of your PIN.
You cannot change it afterwards. Just enter the correct mileage next time you fill up with fuel. Our system will then automatically correct it.
Please pay for your fuel in cash or with your debit/ credit card. You can then submit an expenses claim to your employer.
Please let us know as soon as possible that the card is defective by e-mail to kartenservice.de@leaseplan.com or by telefone at +49 211 91358221 so that we can sort it out.
The ID number is the six-digit number on the front of the card.
We automatically send you a new fuel card in the month when the old card expires.
When you return or exchange the vehicle, deactivate the card by cutting through the magnetic strip. Fleet managers who cannot deactivate a card themselves can ask LeasePlan to put a block on the card by sending a block request to kartenservice.de@leaseplan.com.
Expired fuel cards should be disposed of.
The PIN is the same for the replacement fuel card if it has the same six-digit ID number.
This is possible in principle, but you must obtain your fleet manager’s consent beforehand because you can’t enter the correct mileage and the type of fuel (petrol/diesel) may be different from your leased vehicle’s fuel.
You get additional insurance coverage with your LeasePlan fuel and service card. Holders of valid LeasePlan fuel cards with their name on it have insurance cover of EUR 15,000 for death, EUR 30,000 for injury, EUR 60,000 for full incapacity and EUR 500 for recovery costs. The insurance cover starts on the day on which the vehicle is refuelled with the fuel card and remains in force for the next three days. It commences when the car is driven onto the petrol station grounds. Worldwide insurance cover is provided for accidents involving the driver of the vehicle for which the fuel card was issued and drivers of a rental car obtained using the fuel card or via the LeasePlan rental car/card service. Insurance cover also exists on the company premises of the fuel card system’s contractual partners. Accidents when entering or leaving the vehicle are also insured. The rights of the insured party are exercised by the insured party in cases of injury and by their estate in the case of death. An accident that is likely to give rise to an indemnity obligation must be notified in writing to LeasePlan within three days. The General Terms & Conditions of Accident Insurance apply (AUB 88) in all other respects.
