Flat tyre
The tyre size is printed on the side wall of every tyre. We recommend taking a picture of your tyres in case you ever need it.
Tyre sizes follow a defined format. For example, a tyre size of 205/55 R17 96W means the following:
If you've used the puncture repair kit supplied with your vehicle and need a replacement, you can get one from your nearest main dealer.
If you have a maintained contract with LeasePlan, we will cover the cost. If not, you will need to purchase this yourself.
Run flat tyres allow you to continue driving (about 50 miles at 50 mph) with reduced tyre pressure. They have a reinforced sidewall as an extra barrier against wear and tear so the tyre can support extra weight.
If you need to identify a run flat tyre, these are the tell-tale codes found on the most common brands:
- Bridgestone - ROF, RFT, RSC
- Pirelli - RSC
- Michelin - ZP
- Goodyear - ROF, EMT
- Dunlop - DSST, ROF
- Continental - SSR
If you have a maintenance package with us, LeasePlan will fit tyres from our preferred premium brand partners - Goodyear, Hankook, Yokohama and Michelin to minimise downtime and ensure you are back on the road asap. This may mean that where it's safe and legal to do so, we fit different tyres to those already on your vehicle - we will always fit tyres that are suitable for your vehicle and we'll ensure that if a vehicle or tyre manufacturer mandates a specific tyre brand for your vehicle, we will follow that requirement.
If you don't have a maintenance package included in your contract with us, and need replacement tyres, please visit a VAT-registered garage of your own choice. Remember to keep all receipts on you for any work done to the vehicle, as we may request this at the end of your contract.
