Credit checks

We use a credit reference agency (Experian) to provide data on companies and individuals.

With this data, we have our own credit scoring matrix which gives an automated credit decision. Any proposals which are not approved or declined by the scorecard are referred to our underwriters to review the proposal information and make a credit decision.

If the additional services increase the total we're lending you or the monthly payment amount, another credit check is not always necessary.

Our credit searches last for 90 days, and therefore, minor adjustments in that time won't need a new credit check.

However, a new credit check will be needed if an applicant's details are changed (name, date of birth, address).

Our credit checks for businesses are 'soft' and won't impact your credit rating.

For individuals, the credit rating is 'hard' and will potentially have an impact on your credit rating.
