This can take up to 14 days, and depends on many factors, especially as some credit requests may need to be investigated.
Your invoice will confirm the date on the top right hand corner of the page.
If you're on a Contract Hire Agreement, you'll only have one monthly invoice after the vehicle is first delivered to you and the contract is set live.
If you don't formally extend your contract with us by signing up to another 6+ months, you'll enter an 'Informal Extension'. Informal extensions are not paid for in advance, you'll switch to paying in arrears instead. This means once you return your vehicle we'll take a payment for the last period you had it.
This will happen if you're on an Informal Extension as you're paying in arrears, which means even after your vehicle has been returned, one final payment is still owed.
This is likely to happen if you've damaged your vehicle and the damage has been caused by driving style rather than general wear and tear.
To check what is covered in your agreement, please check your contract.
We will arrange for your vehicle to be taxed. Some contracts include this cost and for others we'll invoice you for it.
If road tax is included in your monthly payment we'll renew it annually for you. Although road tax is included in your monthly payment at the rate it was in your first year, road tax can change depending on what the chancellor puts in the budget. This makes it too tricky to forecast into your monthly payment for the entire length of your contract, so we may have to invoice the difference if it goes up. If this is the case, we'll let you know. Although it is unlikely, if the price ever went down we'd refund you the difference.
Road tax is not included in your monthly payment if you have ‘Drivewise’, ‘Lease Purchase’ or a ‘Finance Lease’ contract, but we'll tax it for you and send you the invoice annually.
If you'd like to check the status, it's easy to do on the DVLA website: www.vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk. Just type in your registration and vehicle make and you'll see the expiry date for the road tax and MOT.
When you took out your contract, you would have chosen how many months of upfront payment you would pay. In addition, we take your monthly payments in advance. So, for example, if you chose a three-month upfront payment, we would take four months for the first payment. If this doesn't answer your question, please contact your broker.
