Model Risk Manager – Governance and Model Risk Control

We are looking for:

For our Model Risk Manager vacancy, we are looking for a new colleague at our Amsterdam based office. Model Risk Manager is a member of Model Risk Oversight Team, based in Amsterdam and responsible for model governance and oversight over model risk for all models used in Ayvens. Model Risk Oversight Team is part of the centralized Second line of defense for model risk. This position entails communication with various stakeholders across Ayvens Risk and Finance functions as well as within Société Générale’s Model Risk Management department.
 

As a Model Risk Manager, you will design and maintain model risk management framework, review and monitor model inventory process, provide training and guidance to various stakeholders on the framework and contribute to the model risk identification and model risk appetite exercises. You will create regular reports to track KRIs and KPIs, as well as reports and presentations for Ayvens Model Risk Management Committee, and support organization of sessions, agenda and meeting minutes of the Committee.
 

An Overview of tasks and responsibilities in the role
 

Our ideal candidate is able to work under high pressure and effectively communicate. You are responsible for: 
 

• Definition and maintenance of Ayvens Model risk management framework – policies, standards and guidelines, including setting expectations towards LoD1, as well as principles for model risk rating methodology and independent model review and approval processes;
• Providing guidance and training to various stakeholders over MRM framework and Model inventory processes;
• Maintenance of the Ayvens Group Model inventory, including periodical controls over changes, completeness and consistency of registered information;
• Review and monitoring of the Model inventory process at Ayvens;
• Support over maintenance and improvement of enterprise-wide Model inventory and model control standards;
• Participating in Risk identification and Risk appetite exercises for model risk by providing materiality assessments, definition and maintenance of KRIs and ensuring regular monitoring of KRIs and KPIs established for model risk;
• Organizing sessions, agenda and meeting minutes for Model Risk Management Committee;
• Creating reports and presentations regarding model risk oversight topics for Ayvens Model Risk Management Committee and Enterprise Risk Committee;
• Creating ad-hoc operational reports and aligning inputs with various stakeholders.

To succeed in this role, you have the following skills and experience:
 

• Work experience in similar function within the financial services industry;
• Academic education in a relevant field, like economics, finance/business administration or econometrics;
• Working experience or familiarity with relevant regulation and supervisory guidance (e.g. ECB Guide to internal models, SR 11-7);
• Understanding of risk management frameworks and risk governance;
• Experience in developing procedures/instructions and/or designing processes/controls and reports based on principles/frameworks and stakeholder interactions;
• Ability to independently drive key deliverables and provide effective challenge;
• Ability to understand complex information, extract the essence and translate it into clear processes and definitions;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
• Experience with model risk management or GRC tooling;
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel;
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
