We are looking for:

Finance as a functional value driver oversees and drives strategic financial planning, including budgeting and forecasting, reporting and creation of value. The department enables the strategic ambition of Ayvens by the standardisation of the finance function and drives the transition to the P&L of the future.

Within Finance, the Norms team is a team within the Consolidation & Reporting (C&R) team, which is part of the Finance department comprising of amongst others, Finance planning & analysis (FP&A), Tax and Regulatory Reporting.

Overall job purpose

  • Monitoring changes in IFRS and other relevant standards applicable to Ayvens, assessing the impact for Ayvens and taking the lead or participating in implementing these changes on a timely basis within the Accounting and Reporting Manual, which should be updated at least once a year;
  • Review of the Ayvens interim and annual consolidated financial statements in relation to IFRS requirements;
  • Maintaining accounting manuals and guidelines, supporting consolidation and reporting teams on accounting matters;
  • Support countries in questions related to IFRS and Accounting and Reporting Manual application;

Key expertise areas

  • Monitoring IFRS and other relevant accounting standards: Pro-actively monitor changes in the IFRS and other applicable standards, assess and discuss financial, operational and business impact for Ayvens.
  • Lead or participate in implementation of new accounting and reporting standards: Participate in implementation of relevant accounting standards in systems, reports and processes
  • Answers questions with respect to IFRS and the Ayvens accounting manual, discusses findings with internal and external audit teams, drafts IFRS position papers and maintains logging of IFRS Q&A.
  • Ensures the Ayvens Accounting manual is kept up to date, in line with relevant accounting standards and shared with Finance teams in Ayvens reporting entities
  • Prepare annual and interim “dummy” financial statements and validates against the IFRS disclosure checklists.
  • Act as a key player in the process of interim reviews and year end audits by the group external auditors.
  • The job holder is capable to enforce accounting discipline onto reporting entities with tact and diplomacy and to discuss and agree accounting topics with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Internal: Rest of finance team, Regulatory Reporting, Investor relations, Risk management, Treasury, Communications, Internal Audit Ayvens countries, Controllers and finance team, Societe Generale Norms team
  • External: Group external auditors; Other big-four audit firms for consultancy

Required level of education and technical abilities

  • Master degree in Finance / Business administration;
  • Certified public accountant is a plus;
  • Work with complex matters in a changing environment;
  • Minimum of 8-10 years relevant work experience in a financial role (accounting, controlling and/or auditing) – big-4 is a plus;
  • Work experience with relevant IFRS for the financial / leasing industry, specific experience with IFRS 9, 15, 16 and 17 is a pro;
  • English (fluent, verbally and written) and French (is a plus);
