ALD Automotive successfully completes the acquisition of LeasePlan and announces local management changes

This transformative acquisition represents a step-change which positions the combined group as the leading global sustainable mobility player with total fleet of 3.3 million vehicles managed worldwide. By joining forces, ALD Automotive and LeasePlan will lead the way to net zero and further shape the digital transformation of the industry. The combined entity will leverage on scale and complementary capabilities to strengthen its competitiveness and deliver sustained growth.

Following the completion of this acquisition, ALD Automotive and LeasePlan in Sweden will begin the process of integrating into one company, subject to regulatory approval.

To lead strategic development of the combined entity in Sweden, Tim Albertsen, Chief Executive Officer of ALD Automotive | LeasePlan, has appointed Frank Alofs, previously Managing Director of ALD Automotive in Sweden, as Country Managing Director. This conditional appointment is effective immediately.

Marcio Hociko, General Manager of LeasePlan in Sweden, has decided to pursue other opportunities outside the company.

Frank Alofs is one of the key talents selected from both ALD Automotive and LeasePlan who is best positioned to implement the combined entity’s challenging integration plan moving forward and successfully deliver the strategic development growth targeted in the coming months and years.

Frank has been working in the leasing industry for more than 20 years and joined the ALD organization 10 years ago.

Before joining ALD Automotive Sweden as managing director, he worked six years at ALD Automotive in The Netherlands as operations director, focusing on improving the driver satisfaction, implementing self-service functionalities, and strengthening the operations teams being able to absorb fleet growth. His service strategy successfully led to a Dutch number one position in terms of driver satisfaction in an external benchmark.

As managing director of ALD Automotive Sweden, Frank has focused on delivering flexible and sustainable mobility solutions such as ALD Release (Used Car Leasing), ALD Flex (midterm rental) and ALD Electric (home and public charging solutions). Today, ALD Automotive Sweden has a leading market position of full electric cars and plugin hybrids in the fleet.
