Safety first according to company car survey 2022
When company car drivers choose a car, safety is of utmost importance. This is shown by LeasePlan's annual company car survey, Tjänstebilsbarometer.
Safety is top rated when the Swede chooses a company car
When company car drivers choose a car, safety is of utmost importance. One in three (34 percent) company car drivers would also feel safe riding in a self-driving car with autopilot. This is shown by LeasePlan's annual company car survey, Tjänstebilsbarometer.
According to LeasePlan's latest company car survey, Tjänstebilsbarometer, most respondents say that safety is most important when choosing a company car. Second most important are bluetooth and other wireless functions and then the total cost. The least important thing is that the car has four-wheel drive. The factors previously mentioned that top the list this year remain stable from last year, but the survey also shows that fuel consumption has moved up from fifth to fourth place on the Swedes' priority list. Something that is probably connected to the increased fuel prices.
"We at LeasePlan are not surprised that safety tops the list when choosing a car again this year. We provide consultancy to our clients on adapting their fleet policy in the best way, making sure to address driver’s safety priority properly when choosing for a new vehicle. This serves not only the safety priority but also the ongoing concern on increasing fuel prices which affected many people recently" says Marcio Hociko, CEO of LeasePlan Sweden.
The survey also shows that just over one in three (34 percent) would feel safe in a self-driving car with autopilot. However, more than half (56 percent) state that they would feel unsafe in such a car. This shows that Swedes have become more skeptical of self-driving cars in recent years, as a previous European survey conducted by LeasePlan showed that eight out of ten Swedes would feel safe in a self-driving car.
"While the development of self-driving cars is progressing rapidly, it is still not given for many of us to let the car drive without our control. It will be exciting to follow the continued development and see how the Swedes' attitude to self-driving cars will look in the future" says Marcio Hociko, CEO of LeasePlan Sweden.
About the survey The survey was conducted by the market research company Detector on behalf of LeasePlan during 9-29 March 2022. A total of 3,627 company car drivers in Sweden responded to the survey.
